Jack Algiere Bio

Jack Algiere is Chief Agroecology Officer and a founding farmer at Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, a non-profit 400 acre educational organic farm and research center in Pocantico Hills, New York. As an agroecologist, he works at the intersection of food and agriculture and has overseen the Stone Barns Farm ecosystem since its beginning in 2003. Having spent two decades working with the Blue Hill Restaurant at Stone Barns, he seeks transformative change in our regional food system through practical farming techniques and culinary R&D in close relation to soil practices and health. He is also a consultant on preservation at the New York State Rockefeller Preserve.
