City Gardens Club grants ranging from $200 to $4,000 are offered on a yearly basis for worthwhile projects that conform to the mission of the Grants Committee, which is to bring the beauty of the natural world into the lives of children and adults in all five boroughs of New York City and to sponsor educational programs that help citizens:
- develop appreciation and knowledge of nature
- learn gardening skills
- support the preservation and improvement of the city’s environment
In addition to filling out the application form, which is linked below, please submit a brief description of your project, along with any supporting materials – such as illustrations or photographs – that will enable the committee to gain a clear idea of what you hope to do. (Please note that salaries will not be funded.) Attach proof of not-for-profit status.
In order to be considered, completed applications must be returned to the CGC office before February 1, 2018 [deadline extended to February 15th] to:
The City Gardens Club of New York City
755 Park Avenue
New York, NY 10021
Attention: Grants Committee
You will be notified of the Grants Committee’s decision in Spring 2018. If your request is acted upon favorably, a committee member will be assigned as your project’s liaison. Preference will be given to small, underfunded projects where a City Gardens Club grant will make a significant difference.
